LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Bio-Extraction Inc. (“BioExx”) immediately requires an industry-experienced individual to fulfil the role of a Laboratory Technician (LT) reporting to the QA/QC Supervisor.  The LT will be responsible for completing all of the required testing on canola seed, cake, meal, protein concentrates and isolates. Responsibilities will also include maintenance of the lab environment and instrumentation, as well as producing the required COA’s. 

The LT should have a post secondary diploma in Chemical Technology or equivalent and / or a degree in Chemistry. Industry related experience in oil chemistry, a good working knowledge of Gas Chromatographs, Leco Protein Analyzers, and ICP would be an asset.

PROCESS ENGINEER   Position Filled
Experience in process simulation, process flow diagrams (PFDs), process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), energy and material balances, equipment sizing, hydraulic calculations, and technical reports preparations are required. Registration as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan or able to achieve registration within 2 years.

Requirements: B.S.c in Chemical Engineering . Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role. Additional operations experience will be an asset.

Areas of expertise: food industry, biotechnology and vegetable oil.

SHIFT MECHANICS (2)   Position Filled
Industrial or heavy-duty journeyman experience would be an asset as would agriculture processing experience.  Reporting to Maintenance Manager, position will operate on scheduled days but must share on-call coverage for 7/24 operation.  Start date: as soon as available.

SHIFT LEADS AND OPERATORS (4)   Position Filled
Canola processing or similar plant operating experience would be beneficial for this innovative 7/24 operation. Grade 12 plus 5 or more years operating experience preferred.  Start date: January 2009.

OFFICE ASSISTANT – ACCOUNTING CLERK   Position Filled
Strong spreadsheet and accounting package skills combined with high organizational ability required to fill this accounting role that will also include purchasing, and general office management duties. Some post secondary education plus 5 or more years experience in a similar role would be a great asset. Start date: as soon as available.

Bio-Extraction Inc. (“BioExx”) is preparing for the startup of its specialized canola proteins processing facility in North Corman Industrial Park in Saskatoon. Salary and benefits will be very competitive and the company is currently seeking strong individuals with high initiative for the following positions:

PLANT ACCOUNTANT - IMMEDIATE   Position Filled
Preferably having a CMA or CGA, as well as 5 or more years plant accounting experience, the Plant Accountant will be responsible for all plant and management reporting systems, logistics, and capital expenditure programs. The PA will be a member of the senior management team at the plant and will report directly to the Plant Manager with dotted line responsibility to the Chief Financial Officer.

Preference will be given to someone with advanced capability working with computers, networks and Microsoft based ERP systems, as well as having a strong management accounting bias with experience in process oriented operations.

Bio-Extraction Inc. (“BioExx”) is currently designing and constructing a specialized canola seed processing facility in the Corman Industrial Park just north of Saskatoon. The facility will produce canola oil, meal, and specialized proteins employing approximately 20 people. Salary and benefits will be very competitive. 

BioExx is seeking an industry-experienced individual to fulfill the role of Technical & Quality Control Manager (QCM).  Reporting to the Plant Manager, the QCM will be responsible to work with other key managers to develop and install a complete CFIA compliant quality control system; design and oversee installation of a QC lab; and assist the Plant Manager with technical issues related to operation of the plant.

The QCM would assume responsibility for the plant in the absence of the Plant Manager. The QCM should have a Chemistry or Chemical Engineering Degree and possibly certification in Food Science or agriculture based Chemistry.

Preference will be given to someone with work experience in canola processing or in the food processing environment. Practical lab experience would be an asset.
